Cops launch search for missing Cumbernauld teenager who vanished in early hours of the morning

Police are appealing for help to find a Cumbernauld teenager who was last seen in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Caitlin Mcerlean was spotted on School Road in Stepps at around 3.30am on September 5 but has failed to make contact since.

The 18-year-old’s disappearance is described as “out of character” and officers are keen to track her down.

Caitlin is described as 5ft tall of a slim build and has a shaved head with a lip piercing.

She was last seen wearing a black and grey camouflage hooded jumper, black jeans and black shoes.

Inspector John O'Neill said: “This behaviour is out of character and there has been no contact with Caitlin since she was last seen.

“I would appeal to anyone who has seen Caitlin or has any information about where she might go to please get in touch."

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 0851 of 5 September, 2020.
