Man found dead on Fife street as cops launch probe into 'unexplained' death

Cops have launched an investigation after the ‘unexplained’ death of a man on a street in Glenrothes.

The 29-year-old male was found on Alexander Road in the town at around 9.15pm on Tuesday, May 19.

Officers from Police Scotland are currently probing the incident but they do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances behind his sudden death.

A report is expected to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police Scotland was made aware of the sudden death of a 29-year-old man on Alexander Road in Glenrothes around 9.15pm on Tuesday, May 19.

“The death is being treated as unexplained pending the outcome of a post mortem examination, although there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
