One man was found dead at the scene and the other was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

A police cordon was erected between the Crystal Palace pub and popular night haunt, Sub Club.

British Transport Police (BTP) issued an update on Sunday afternoon.

A spokesperson for BTP said: "Detectives consider the death of a male and serious injury of another male at Glasgow Central Station, on Saturday night, as non-suspicious.

"At about 10.45pm officers received reports of two injured men on waste ground off Jamaica Street, Glasgow.

"Officers from BTP and emergency services attended and a 40 year old male was sadly declared dead at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed.

"The second male is currently being treated in hospital for serious injuries.

"A report will be collated and submitted to the Procurator Fiscal Service."
