Cops launch probe after man mown down in Glasgow hit-and-run

Police are following a line of inquiry after a man was struck by a car in Glasgow last night.

Emergency services rushed to South Scott Street in the Baillieston area of the city at around 5.25pm after reports of a disturbance.

A 47-year-old man was taken to hospital where staff described his condition as stable after he was deliberately hit by a vehicle on the residential street.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At 5.25pm police were called to reports of a disturbance on South Scott Street.

"A 47-year-old was taken to hospital where he is in a stable condition.

"Police are following a line of inquiry."
