Cops launch manhunt after knifepoint robbery at Glasgow store

Police have launched an urgent appeal for information after a knife-point robbery in a Glasgow shop.

A man entered a store in the Pollok area of the city and threatened a 22-year-old shopkeeper with a blade.

He then made off with a three-figure sum of money.

The incident happened at around 6.45pm on Monday, May 18, when the male entered Peter’s Store on Househillwood Road.

Officers from Police Scotland are now hunting the man responsible for the attack.

Thankfully the shopkeep was not injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as white, mid to late 40s and with a Scottish accent.

He was wearing a black hooded jacket, dark coloured jeans, black trainers with a white sole and had his face covered.

Constable Paul Friel of Helen Street Community Investigation Unit, said: “Although the shopkeeper was not injured as a result of this incident, it was a very frightening experience for him.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area of Househillwood Road shortly before or after incident and may have noticed anyone matching the description to contact police.”

Police can be contacted on 101 quoting incident number 3225 of Monday, 18 May, 2020 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
