Police in Larkhall have launched an investigation after the attempted robbery of a bookies last night.
The incident happened around 9.25pm on Friday (July 2) when a man entered the Coral store on Union Street demanding money before leaving empty handed.
Detective Inspector Susie Cairns told Lanarkshire Live: “Although nobody was injured during this incident, this was terrifying for those working.
“We are appealing for anyone with any information about this incident to get in touch with us.
“It has been really hot recently and therefore it may have looked out of place to see a man wearing a jacket and gloves.
“Think back - did you see him in the area at the time?”
The suspect is described as white, with a skinny pale face and a local accent.
He was wearing a green parka jacket with fur around the hood and had gloves on.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101. Information can also be given anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
