Cops investigate after 'missiles' thrown at players during Rangers v Aberdeen match

Police are investigating after 'missiles' were thrown at players during Wednesday night's match between Rangers and Aberdeen.

The incidents happened as the teams went head-to-head in the Scottish Premiership clash at Ibrox.

One object, believed to be a bottle, appeared to be hurled onto the pitch towards a group of players after Scott Brown scored the second goal for Aberdeen.

Images show that nobody was hit by the object, and Aberdeen midfielder Dean Campbell caught it as it fell from the sky.

Police have confirmed they are now investigating the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Enquiries are continuing following a report that a small number of missiles had been thrown towards the pitch at the match last night."
