A huge drugs haul was recovered by police following a raid in a Wishaw street.
On Tuesday, officers from the Wishaw Drugs and Alcohol Violence Reduction Unit (DAVRU) executed a search warrant under the at a property in Beechwood Crescent.
There they found a large quantity of cannabis, thought to have a street value of around £38,000, along with a quantity of tablets and other drug related material.
A 27-year-old man was arrested and charged in relation to the matter and was reported to the Procurator Fiscal for the alleged drugs offences.
Inspector Alan Mulholland told Lanarkshire Live : “We have a focus on reducing the harm caused by substance misuse and the work our DAVRU team do is key to reducing the impact of drugs within the community.
“This seizure is a large amount which is now safely in police custody which should give the community confidence that it doesn’t reach the hands of our young people.”
