Cops in the Scottish borders seize nearly £5,000 worth of cannabis during routine stop on A7

Cops in the Scottish borders seized nearly £5,000 worth of cannabis on the A7 during a routine stop today.

Officers were on patrol on the A7 Galashiels road when they made the discovery.

A 27-year-old woman was charged with drug related offences following the recovery of the Class B drug, worth £4,700.

The woman was release and will appear at Selkirk Sheriff Court at a later date.

PC Wood said “Removing illegal substances from our communities remains a priority for us.”

“I would encourage anyone who has information on the use or sale of illegal substances to contact us”

As well as contacting police on 101 or online, information can be reported anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or by completing their online form.
