Cops in Lanarkshire issue appeal over wilful fire-raising in Newmains

Police are appealing for information following a wilful fire-raising in Newmains.

The incident happened around 1.50am on Friday, September 16, when a vehicle was deliberately set on fire on Woodside Crescent.

DC Mark McNab told Lanarkshire Live : “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“Officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries in the local area, including gathering CCTV footage.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or who has information that may help our enquiries to contact officers.

"I would particularly urge those who would have been driving in the area and may possibly have dashcam footage to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101.

Information can also be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
