Cops in East Kilbride on the hunt for vandals after offensive words scribed onto cars

Police in East Kilbride are asking for help after offensive words were scribed into the bonnets of cars.

The incident happened in the St Leonards area between 9.30pm on Monday and 9am Tuesday this week, with a “number of vehicles” targeted.

Vehicles parked in the Glen Moriston and Glen Mallie area were targeted and the offense reported to officers.

Pictures from local police show the word “f**k” scratched into the bonnet of at least two cars.

Community policing sergeant, Jamie Madden, told the News: “There may have been some vandalism that may not have been reported to police.

“I am appealing for witnesses who may have seen or heard anyone around the area between these times to come forward.

“I’m also appealing to anyone with any dashcam or CCTV footage which may show this incident.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Andrew McLeod at East Kilbride Police Office on 101.

Information can be left anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
