A 'plague doctor' spotted roaming parts of Dumfries and Galloway is being probed by police.
Officers are working to unmask the individual seen wearing a black cloak and crow mask, often associated with 17th Century plague doctors.
They were spotted around Whitesands and Sandsids on March 20 then in Lochside the next day.
The following day, March 22, a sighting in the Heathhall and Locharbriggs area was reported.
Police are urging anyone with information to get in touch.
A spokesperson from Dumfries and Galloway Police Division said: "Police are looking to identify a person who has been seen in numerous areas of Dumfries wearing a crow mask and a black cloak.
"The person has been seen in the area of Whitesands and Sandsids on March 20 then Lochside on March 21.
"Finally the person was seen in the Heathhall and Locharbriggs area on March 22.
"If anyone has any information about this person the please contact Dumfries Police on 101 quoting incidence number 1560 of March 22."

It comes after a person spotted walking around parts of Falkirk dressed as a plague doctor, reportedly leaving families terrified, was probed by police.
Last week we told how the first bizarre sighting happened almost two weeks ago in Bo’ness, and since then, others have taken to social media to report similar haunting figures have been spotted in Grangemouth and Redding.
People hit out at those dressed as plague doctors online, urging them to stop what they were doing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We are aware of reports made to police and online about a person dressed in 'plague doctor' clothing.
"We have identified the male youth who was seen and he has been visited by officers who have offered appropriate advice to him.
"We have no reports of any criminal activity and officers have been out in the community providing reassurance, including speaking at schools in the area."
