Cops hunt witnesses after 'erratically driven Audi chased van' for miles across Lanarkshire

An appeal has been launched by police after reports of a van being pursued by a car in broad daylight across a number of Lanarkshire roads.

The incident is said to have occurred at 1.55pm on Monday, December 28, and involved a silver Ford Transit van and a white Audi A3 driving on various roads across ast Kilbride, Wishaw and Larkhall.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen either vehicle to get in touch.

The vehicles are understood to have driven across the B7032 Caledonian Road, B754 Castlehill Road, A71 Main Street, A71 Horseley Brae, A71 Garrion Bridge and A71 Ayr Road.

Detective Sergeant Grant Robertson said: “It has been reported to us that the white Audi was being driven erratically, swerving across the roadways and almost colliding with the Transit and other vehicles, some of which had to take evasive action.  

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward. In particular, anyone who has phone or dash-cam footage of this incident.”
