Cops hunt vandals who torched three flats in Glasgow

Police are hunting the vandals who deliberately set fire to three buildings in Bridgeton.

Their blazes caused 'caused extensive damage' which threatened residents with 'serious harm' last month.

Now Greater Glasgow CID are desperately re-appealing for information as the continue investigations.

The first incident happened at around 12.30am as the yobs torched a letter box at a property on Mill Street on March 5.

A short time later reports were received of two further fires in the closes on buildings on Main Street.

The fires were quickly extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and nobody was injured as a result.

A further incident has taken place about 2145 hours on Wednesday the 11th March, 2020 where discarded items in a close landing was set on fire.

Detective Constable William Corkindale, of Glasgow CID, said: “One of the fires has caused extensive damage to the building and all four could have caused serious harm to the residents within.

“I would urge anyone who may have been in the Main Street and Mill Street area of Bridgeton at the time or those who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area to contact police.”

“I would also ask anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage of the area to get in contact."

Anyone with information should contact Shettleston Police Office on 101 quoting incident number 0070 of 5 March, 2020.
