Cops hunt two men over Renfrew flat murder bid

A man has been left with serious injuries after he was brutally attacked in a Renfrew flat.

The 38-year-old victim was rushed to hospital following the incident, which happened in Paisley Road around 2.30pm yesterday.

Police are treating the attack in the top-floor flat as attempted murder.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 2.30 pm on Monday, a 38-year-old man was seriously injured after being a attacked by two men at a flat in Paisley Road, Renfrew.

Officers are still at the scene today (Andrew Neil)

"He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he remains for treatment."

There is still a police presence in the street today, and medical staff describe the man's condition as stable.

Officers, who believe the attack to have been targeted, are treating the incident as attempted murder and enquiries are ongoing.
