Cops hunt thugs after Scotland's 'most bizarre' building is damaged

Police in Falkirk are in the hunt for thugs who have damaged The Dunmore Pineapple building.

Officers say that sometime between Friday September, 3 and Saturday September, 4, a section of its wall was damaged.

Graffiti is also believed to have been sprayed on it.

The site - which is based in Dunmore Park, near Airth - was once ranked 'as the most bizarre building in Scotland'.

It was built in 1761 by the Earl of Dunmore as a summerhouse where he could appreciate the views from his estate and at this time, pineapples were among Scotland’s most exotic foods.

Anyone with information or night have spotted something suspicious is being asked to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "If you have any information that could assist with our enquiries, please phone 101 quoting ref 2188 06/09."
