Cops hunt 'reckless' firebugs after door of Paisley home torched in early hours

Cops have launched a probe after a fire was started deliberately in Paisley.

The alarm was raised around 4:30am on Tuesday, August 10.

Emergency services raced to reports of a fire at a property on Motehill Road.

No one was injured in the incident but police have determined the fire was deliberate.

A door was left damaged by the blaze, with police blasting the firebugs as "reckless"..

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information has been asked to come forward.

Detective Constable Laura Sokolov, of Paisley CID said: "Thankfully nobody was injured as a result of this reckless act.

“Enquiries are ongoing and we are keen to trace those responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or who has any information which may assist us in relation to this to get in touch.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 0428 of 10 August. Alternatively, information can be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111.
