Cops hunt pair seen running from deliberate blaze at Scots pub

Cops have revealed people were seen 'running' from a 'deliberate' blaze at a Glasgow pub.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at The Dalmarnock Inn on Old Dalmarnock Road in Glasgow on Monday, January 3.

Police confirmed they were treating the fire as deliberate and launched a probe.

Detectives have now revealed that they believe the fire was set at around 1.55am on Monday morning.

Two people wearing dark-clothing were seen running from the building around that time before making off in the direction of Dunn Street.

Detective Constable David Lamb at Shettleston Police Office said: "Enquiries are continuing to trace those response for setting this fire at the Old Dalmarnock Inn.

“From our enquiries so far we believe that the fire was set around 1.55am on Monday morning, and two people wearing dark-clothing were seen running from the building around that time. They ran off in the direction of Dunn Street.

“I would urge anyone who was in the area between 1.30am and 2am who witnesses anything suspicious, or anyone with information that may assist this investigation to contact us.”

"Anyone with information is asked to contact officers through 101 quoting reference 0491 of 3 January. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
