Cops hunt man who 'touched himself inappropriately' on-board train in Edinburgh

Cops are hunting a man who 'touched himself inappropriately' on-board a train in Edinburgh.

The victim boarded a train at Edinburgh Waverley destined for Arbroath at around 5pm on Friday, August 20.

After sitting down at a table seat, she looked over to see a man in the carriage who was touching himself inappropriately.

The victim then grabbed her possessions and dashed off the carriage.

The disturbing incident happened between Edinburgh Waverley and Edinburgh Gateway stations.

The man is described as white, tall, between 20 and 30 years old, with short dark hair and clean shaven.

He was wearing a dark jumper, red trousers and a dark backpack when the incident happened.

Officers are urging anyone who was on the train that may have witnessed the incident or have any information to come forward.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Witnesses or anyone with information can contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 2100062886.

"Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
