Cops hunt man after assault on train between Cowdenbeath and Edinburgh

Police are hunting a man in connection with an assault that took place on a train between Cowdenbeath and Edinburgh.

The incident took place on a service between Cowdenbeath and Edinburgh Haymarket on Saturday 13 July.

British Transport Police are investigating the incident have released images of the man they are looking to speak to in an attempt to track him down.

A statement from the BTP said: "British Transport Police are today releasing images of a man who may be able to assist with their enquiries after an assault on a train between Cowdenbeath and Edinburgh Haymarket stations.

"The incident happened on Saturday 13th July between 12.52pm and 13.30pm.

"If you recognise the man in the images or have any information that may be able to help, contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 and quote reference number 1900060731.

"Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
