A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl on a bus.

Graeme Bews abused the minor in Paisley, it has been alleged.

The 37-year-old is said to have committed the offence against the 12-year-old while travelling on the the bus on October 22, 2020.

He is alleged to have repeatedly touched her on the body and touched her on the face, in breach of Section 20 of the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009.

Bews, of Paisley, Renfrewshire, was due to go on trial at Paisley Sheriff Court yesterday.

But he did not attend and Sheriff Sukhwinder Gill granted a warrant for failure to appear at court.

The case against Bews will resume when he is detained by Police Scotland.
