Cops hunt knife thug after terrifying robbery at Lidl supermarket in Dundee

Police are hunting a knife thug following a terrifying robbery in Dundee.

Two employees chased the thief as he ran from the Lidl supermarket, in Dura Street, with stolen goods.

When they caught him in nearby North Erskine Street he pulled a knife and threatened them.

He then made off in the direction of Malcolm Place.

Police confirmed the two male members of staff were uninjured but shaken as a result of the incident that happened at 8.20am last Thursday.

The suspect is described as white, aged in his 30s, 5ft 10ins in height and of slim build with dark hair.

He was wearing a black Stone Island padded jacket with a white t-shirt, black jogging trousers and white trainers.

He was with another man who is described as white, aged in his 30s, 5ft 8ins in height and of stocky build with dark hair.

He was wearing a grey GAP hooded top, grey jogging trousers and dark-coloured trainers.

Constable Paul Scott of Dundee’s Maryfield Police Station is appealing to any witnesses or anyone with information to contact officers through 101 quoting reference number 0600 of 18 February.
