Cops hunt gang who attacked pals after row in city centre McDonalds

Police are hunting a gang who brutally attacked two young men in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The four-strong group turned on the pair after one of them tried to diffuse and argument at McDonalds in Jamaica Street at 1am.

One of the yobs attacked the 23-year-old leaving him with a facial injury and damage to his teeth.

The disturbance continued outside at Curry's PC World, when the 25-year-old stepped in to help, the thugs turned on him too.

The injured men sought refuge at the Euro Hostel in Clyde Street and police were called.

They were both treated for injuries at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and released.

Police are anxious to trace the attackers, three of whom are described as white.

One is 16 to 17 years old, with short brown hair and was wearing a dark blue jumper and black jeans.

The second has ginger hair and was wearing a yellow jacket and black jeans and the third is 20 to 30 years old, 6ft 1ins, slim with short dark hair and was wearing a tracksuit.

The fourth man is tall and stocky, and was wearing a hooded jacket with a hood or snood covering his face.

They were in the company of a woman at the time.

Constable Paul Hendry from CID at Stewart Street police station said: “I know that Jamaica Street was busy at the time this disturbance took place and therefore I’m certain that there would have been many people who witnessed the two men being assaulted.

“I urge anyone who witnessed the assaults or anyone who recognises the descriptions of the suspects to contact police."
