Cops hunt brute who punched woman

Police are hunting a yob who punched a woman in the face in Paisley.

The victim was assaulted by the man at around 8pm on Saturday evening.

A member of the public reported seeing a man punch a woman in the face as the two were walking along Corsebar Drive, heading towards Stanely Road, in the town.

The woman appears to have sustained an injury to her face as a result of the attack.

Police attended the incident, however, neither the man nor the woman were seen in the area.

Sergeant Johnny Mullan, who is leading the inquiry, is asking for help in tracing the victim and the attacker.

He said: "Our priority is to trace the woman involved to make sure she is ok. She appears to have been walking with the man and a dog, possibly a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, when the attack happened.

“She is described as white, with blond hair, and was wearing shorts. The man is described as white and wearing all black.

“At this time we don’t know if the two are known to each other but we need to make sure she is alright.

“I would appeal to the woman, or anyne who either recognises the description or who has information that may help us to trace her to contact Paisley Police Office via 101. "

Alternatively  information can be passed in confidence to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
