A police investigation has been launched after a five-figure sum of cash was stolen from a cash machine during a late night raid.
Two men are believed to have forced open the ATM at a filling station on Glasgow Road, near Dougalston Avenue, in Milngavie shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
The machine was badly damaged after the crooks, who were both wearing dark clothing, prised it open before fleeing the scene in a green van.
Officers have since discovered the getaway vehicle in the local area but a manhunt has been launched to catch the people responsible.
Detective Inspector Ross Jamieson said: “Our enquiries into the incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have seen or heard any suspicious activity to get in touch.
“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or private CCTV from the area around that time.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting incident 0035 of Wednesday, 24 November, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
