Cops hunt armed thug who left man with serious head wound after vicious attack on Scots street

Police are hunting a thug in hi-viz who left a man seriously injured in hospital after attacking him with a weapon.

The shocking incident took place on Blantyre Mill Road in Bothwell, Lanarkshire, at around 6pm on Friday, October 22.

A 35-year-old man suffered a serious head wound and was badly shaken before being taken to hospital for treatment.

Police are asking members of the public for help to trace the suspect who they say was wearing a green hi-viz jacket at the time of the attack.

The thug is described as being around 6ft tall and of a stocky build.

Detective Constable Christine McLanachan from Cambuslang CID said: “This incident resulted in the victim requiring treatment at hospital for a head wound and left him badly shaken.

“I am appealing for anyone with information about this crime, or the man involved to please come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cambuslang CID by calling Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 2925 of 22 October.
