Cops find heroin worth £25,000 after stopping driver of Ford Fiesta in Alexandria

Police who pulled over the driver of a Ford Fiesta found heroin worth £25,000 in the car.

Road Policing cops in Alexandria, Dunbartonshire , were involved in a brief pursuit with the car on Saturday evening before it was stopped.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the drugs.

The car was stopped in the Redburn area of Alexandria just after 9pm on Saturday.

Sergeant Kevin Craig, from the Argyll and West Dunbartonshire Road Policing Team, said: “Drug misuse brings nothing but misery to our communities.

"I want to reassure the people of Argyll and West Dunbartonshire that we will use every tool and tactic at our disposal to remove these illegal substances from the region.

“Our work often relies on the support of the public and together we can all make a difference and reduce the threat of such criminality."
