Cops find body in search for missing Aberdeen man who vanished on New Year's Day

Police have found in a body in the searching for a missing Aberdeen man who vanished on New Year’s Day.

Kevin Mutch was last spotted on Grandholm Drive at around 10.30pm on Wednesday, January 1 before his disappearance.

The 46-year-old, from the Cairncry area of Aberdeen , was reported missing to the police eight days later as concerns grew for his wellbeing.

Police Scotland have confirmed that a body of a man was found in the River Don at Grandholm Drive on Saturday.

The body is yet to be identified, however Kevin’s family have been informed.

Investigators are treating the death as unexplained.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
