Cops find '£30k of cannabis and weapons stash' after pulling over BMW on Scots road

Cops have found more than £30,000 of cannabis and a stash of weapons after pulling over a car in a Scots city.

Police stopped the black BMW 1 series around 11.15pm on the eastbound section of the A90, Kingsway West in Dundee on Friday night.

Two men were arrested and a third fled from the scene after the stop.

A search found a massive amount of the class B drug, estimated to be worth £30,000 on the street, and a 'number' of alleged weapons.

The men, aged 30 and 31, have been charged in connection with the incident and are due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday.

Cops say they are following a positive line of enquiry to trace the third man from the vehicle.

Sergeant Gordon Dickson from the Road Policing Unit based in Dundee said: “This car was stopped as part of intelligence-led work and reinforces our commitment in tackling the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs.

“Anyone with information or concerns over drug crime should report this to Police Scotland on 101. We will continue to disrupt and deter those who commit drug offences and work to combat such illegal activity on the road networks across Scotland.”
