Cops find £160k cannabis in Audi on M74 as two men arrested

Scots cops found £160,000 of cannabis in a flashy motor after a routine car stop on the M74.

Road police in Dumfries and Galloway say they made the massive class B drug find while on patrol.

Officers stopped a red Audi A3 traveling southbound on the M74 near Junction 16 at around 12.15pm yesterday.

Two men, aged 33 and 45, have been arrested and charged.

They are expected to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court today.

Inspector Campbell Moffat, from Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “I’d like to commend the good work of our officers who initially pulled the vehicle over as it was being driven in an erratic manner.

"Thanks to their good instincts and judgement, we’ve now removed a significant quantity of illegal drugs from the streets.

“If you have any information or concerns about drug misuse or wider criminality in your area, do not hesitate to contact us on 101 or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
