Cops discharge taser after early morning disturbance in Clydebank

Cops discharged a taser and arrested a man during an early morning disturbance in Clydebank today.

Police raced out to a property on Orbiston Place around 4.25am and discharged a taser following the incident.

A 34-year-old man was arrested and charged in relation to the disturbance. He is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.25 am on Tuesday, 9 February 2021, police attended a report of a disturbance within a house in Orbiston Place, Clydebank.

"A 34-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is expected to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 10 February, 2021.

“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

"A Taser was discharged during the course of this incident."

“As with any Taser deployment, a report will be submitted to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC)."
