Cops cordon off Glasgow street after man 'seriously assaulted' in daylight attack

Cops locked down a Glasgow street today after a man was seriously assaulted in a broad daylight attack.

Both the victim and the suspect fled the scene after the incident around 12.40pm on Meadowpark Street in the east end of the city.

Detectives investigating the assault locked down the street for around two hours as officers scoured the scene for evidence.

As reported in Glasgow Live, an eyewitness said the street was cordoned off this afternoon and both uniformed and plainclothes detectives in attendance.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.40pm on Friday, 17 December, officers were called to the Onslow Drive area of Glasgow following a report of a man being seriously assaulted, before the victim and suspect both left the area.

"Enquiries into the matter are ongoing."
