The death of a man, whose body was found in a burning car, is not being treated as suspicious.
We told how human remains were discovered in a grey coloured Vauxhall Insignia that was on fire near Jocks Loaning in the Lincluden area of Dumfries on Wednesday morning.
Emergency services scrambled to the scene when the alarm was raised at around 8am.
Once the blaze had been extinguished, human remains were found inside the vehicle.
Police launched an appeal on Thursday night in a bid to find out who had tragically passed away.
On Friday morning we told how the body had been identified locally as dad-of-four, Irvine Wallace.
Tributes poured in for the 64-year-old 'legend', known as Hagar, who was described as the 'biggest character' in Dumfries.
Police at that stage were still treating the death as unexplained and appealing for information.
Later on Friday afternoon, officers revealed that while 'formal identification is yet to take place' Irvine Wallace's 'family have been informed'.
Detectives also confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
A statement from Police Scotland read: "Formal identification has still to take place but the family of Irvine Wallace, aged 64, from Dumfries, have been informed.
"The death is currently being treated as unexplained pending the results of a post mortem however there are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
"Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident."
Detective Inspector Craig Nicolson expressed his condolensces and stressed that enquiries are ongoing.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to get in touch.”
