Body found in Scots field confirmed as missing Airdrie man

Cops have found a body in their search for a missing Lanarkshire man.

Officers confirmed Thomas Faulds was discovered on farmland in the Plains area of Airdrie on Sunday afternoon.

Huge concern was growing for the 52-year-old, who was reported missing by his family.

He was last seen in Hallcraig Street, Airdrie around 12.23pm on Tuesday 15th December 2020.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said:  “Around 2.15pm on Sunday, 20 December, officers searching for a missing man discovered the body of a man near farmland in the Plains area of Airdrie.

“He has been identified as Thomas Faulds and his family has been informed

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a full report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
