Part of a major Scots road has been closed off after a 'serious' three vehicle crash on the M74.
As of 3pm there is no entry between junctions 12 to 10, south of Lesmahagow, due to the collision between two motorbikes and a car.
The southbound carriageway at junction nine has also been closed.
Emergency services have raced to the scene but it is currently unclear if there are any serious injuries.
A tweet from Traffic Scotland around 3pm advised drivers to avoid the busy road.
It read: "#M74 RTC
"The #M74 CLOSED N/B between J12-10 due to a serious RTC
"The S/B carraigeway has been CLOSED at J9 to assist
"Emergency services remain at the scene.
"Traffic heavy in the area so do #usealtroute if possible
"#PlanAhead #TakeCare"
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.40pm on Saturday, 24 July, officers were called to the M74 northbound between junctions 11 and 10, following a report of a road crash involving two motorbikes and a car.
"Emergency services remain at the scene and the road is currently closed.”
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were in attendance at the scene.
