A busy Glasgow road has been closed by police following a serious two vehicle collision.
Emergency services were called to Mount Vernon Avenue at around 2.35pm on Wednesday May 19 after the alarm was raised.
Police Scotland has issued a statement urging motorists and the general public to avoid the area while they carry out enquiries.
It is not currently known what vehicles are involved or if anyone has been injured.
Officers remain at the scene with the road blocked in both directions.
A force spokesperson said: “Due to a serious road traffic collision, Mount Vernon Avenue in Glasgow is currently closed to traffic in both directions whilst investigations are ongoing.
“Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and find an alternative route if impacted by this closure.
“We appreciate your assistance and patience in this matter.”
