Cops carrying out speed checks on drivers are complaints from Bonnybridge locals

Police in Allandale and Bonnybridge have been carrying out speed checks in local speed hotspots.

It comes after complaints from residents about motorists driving too fast through those areas.

Officers have since stepped up speed checks in a bit to reduce the number of people breaking the law.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "In response to complaints from local residents, officers have been out and about carrying out speed checks in the Allandale and Bonnybridge areas.

Yesterday we told you how cops had issued a warning to drivers across Falkirk not to risk drink driving over the next few weeks if heading out to watch Euro2020.

Instead officers say people should leave their vehicles at home.

The current alcohol limit for getting behind the wheel in Scotland is 22 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
