A serious accident on the busy A779 at Bathgate caused the road to be closed this morning.
Police received a call at 6.45am this morning and the road was closed in both directions after a crash between the A89 Boghall roundabout and the M8 junction 3A at Bathgate.
Queues were reported past Boghall roundabout and along towards Kirkton Park on the A89. The A7066 Starlaw Road was also busy as a result.
One women was taken to hospital and delays were experienced for much of the morning before the road was reopened to traffic shortly after 10.30am.
