Cops called to 'disturbance' near Scots high school after incident involving pupils

Cops returned pupils to schools in Rutherglen after a 'disturbance' on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers have now launched a probe after being called to the incident at around lunch time.

The disturbance took place in the Stonelaw Road area and 'a number of pupils' were returned to their nearby schools with enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.50pm on Wednesday, 19 January, police received a report of a disturbance in the Stonelaw Road area of Rutherglen.

"A number of pupils have been returned to their respective schools and enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing.”
