Cops called after travellers park up near Falkirk train station

Police were called to a car park in Falkirk after travellers descended onto the site.

Around nine caravans were reported to have parked up on land near Camelon Train Station shortly after 6pm on Tuesday evening.

A number of police cars, and a specialist dog unit were dispatched to the area.

They arrived at around 6pm (Daily Record)

Officers were understood to have been negotiating with the travellers in an attempt to move them on.

The land is mostly used by Tenpin Falkirk, the local bowling alley, which is currently closed due to coronavirus restrictions.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Falkirk Live: “Officers are currently at a car park in Camelon.

“Advice has been given and work is ongoing to remove those at the site.”

"No arrests have been made."
