Cops block off Scots street with riot vans as 'officers search gardens'

Cops have locked down a Scots street with riot vans after they were called to an ongoing incident.

Police officers are currently on Cairnwell Place, Kirkcaldy, with pictures from the scene posted online this lunchtime showing the street blocked with large vans.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known but local residents say their gardens are being searched .

It is understood officers are scouring the area searching bins, drains and underneath vehicles.

Video footage of the scene shows an officer in the middle of the road with two riot vans also visible.

Three riot vans are thought to have been parked in a lay-by close to the street before blocking it off.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
