Cops arrest Scot in connection with ‘serious’ hotel frauds after cash ‘goes missing’ in Blackpool

Police have arrested a Kilmarnock man in connection with a string of alleged hotel fraud cases in Blackpool.

Officers previously appealed for the public’s help to trace John Allison as part of their enquiries into £25,000 meant for accommodation for nurses going missing.

The 34-year-old, who also goes by the names Jay Allison and John Kerr, was arrested in Durham, it was revealed on Wednesday.

Blackpool Police say he remains in custody and have thanked everyone for their help in tracing the Scot.

A force spokesperson said: “John Allison, wanted by police in connection with fraud offences linked to Blackpool hotels, has been arrested in Durham and is in custody.

“Thanks to everyone who shared our appeals to find him.”
