Cops appeal for information after cyclist knocked off bike by a van

Renfrewshire police are appealing for information after a cyclist was knocked off his bike in Paisley.

The incident happened around 4.25pm in Greenock Road on Wednesday, September 7.

The 40-year-old cyclist exchanged words with the driver of a white van before the van was driven off.

The two then subsequently were involved in a further incident at a bus stop a short distance further along the road where the van was driven into the bicycle, causing the cyclist to fall onto the road.

The van was then driven off in the direction of Paisley town centre.

Constable Paton said: “The cyclist was uninjured but was narrowly missed by another passing vehicle so this incident could have been far more serious.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and in particular the driver of this passing vehicle, which was red in colour.

“Anyone with information can call 101, quoting 2492 of 7 September, 2022, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
