Cops appeal for help following assault and robbery of young man in Lochwinnoch

Police are appealing for information after an 18-year-old was assaulted and robbed in Lochwinnoch.

An 18-year-old man and his friend were walking along the cycle path near to Castle Semple, Lochlip Road, around 8.45pm on Friday, October 22, when they were approached by two men.

The men physically assaulted the 18-year-old before taking his mobile phone.

He did not require medical treatment and his phone was recovered by officers later.

The first man is described as being around 6ft in height, of slim build, wearing dark clothing with his hood up.

The second is described as around 5ft 8in in height, with stubble and was wearing dark clothing with the hood up.

Both spoke with a Glasgow accent.

Detective Constable Gary Bruce said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen something that could assist with our enquiries to get in touch.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 3740 of 22 October.
