Copenhagen skipper makes Celtic admission as he raves about Neil Lennon's 'dominant' side

Confident Copenhagen star Carlos Zeca believes his side can catch Celtic cold in their last 32 Europa League showdown.

The Danes are the underdogs to progress from the tie but their skipper insists they will not sit back on home soil during Thursday's first leg.

Celtic have won nine consecutive games since their winter break while Copenhagen suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Esbjerg on Friday.

But Zeca is hopeful his side will be still be in with a fighting chance ahead of the return leg in Glasgow on February 27.

He said: "We must be smart and keep our heads cool on the pitch, even though it will be an intense atmosphere in both matches.

"We always aim to win at home in Copenhagen, but we also know that it can be crucial that we keep them from scoring, so we always have to balance things. 0-0 may prove to be a good result, but that is not what we are going for.

"It is a really strong team that is very dominant in their league, just as they have been really good in the Europa League this season.

"We know it will be difficult and close. It's a battle that's going to last 180 minutes and we have to go after keeping our odds alive all the way."

Celtic's stock on the continent is on the up after securing consecutive wins over Serie A title chasers Lazio during the group stage.

Neil Lennon is targeting success and is looking avoid defeat at this stage for a third consecutive season.
