Copa Libertadores final 2018: When will the match take place after latest postponement?

The Copa Libertadores final second-leg between Boca Juniors and River Plate has been postponed for the second time in two days.

Boca urged South American football’s governing body Conmebol to take action after their team bus was attacked by River fans on Saturday, requesting the final to be played in “conditions of equality”.

The postponement was confirmed on Sunday just hours before the scheduled kick-off, with a meeting between Conmebol officials and the respective club presidents to be held on Tuesday to arrange another date.

The window in which the match can be played is a small one, however.

Holding the match next weekend seems very unlikely. Buenos Aries hosts to the G20 summit with US President Donald Trump and Chinese premier Xi Jinping among those in town.

Conmebol would have liked to have the match between Argentina’s fiercest rivals well out of the way before that.

The Club World Cup further limits their options.

The South American champions are due to participate in the annual tournament in United Arab Emirates with their first fixture scheduled for December 18 against an opponent still to be determined.

Given the stacked calendar, that leave a window between the 3rd and 9th of December for the rematch to take place.
