Copa Libertadores Final 2018 LIVE: River Plate v Boca Juniors POSTPONED - latest news

The second leg of the Copa Libertadores Final has been suspended following a request from Boca Juniors after Saturday's extraordinary scenes in Buenos Aires.

The second-leg of the final between Argentina’s fierce rivals was suspended on Saturday after the Boca team bus was attacked by River Plate fans as the visiting squad travelled across Buenos Aires.

Several players, including former Manchester United and Manchester City star Carlos Tevez, were injured in the attack which saw bus windows smashed by the mob of rival supporters.

With the contest poised at 2-2 following a thrilling first leg two weeks ago, the return leg at El Monumental was scheduled to take place at 8pm [GMT] this evening.

But Boca made a formal request to governing body Conmebol for the game to be moved again in order to be played in “conditions of equality", and the match will be rescheduled for a second time.
