It was a busy day yesterday as COP26 kicked off in Glasgow.

World leaders have come together in Glasgow's SECC in an attempt to curb carbon emissions and save the planet from climate crisis.

There were some key moments throughout the first day of the summit, with David Attenborough delivering a harrowing warning speech to kickstart the event.

Greta Thunberg has been filmed chanting “you can shove yer climate crisis up yer a***” during a rally at a Glasgow park.

The 18-year-old activist met campaigners at Festival Park in the Govan area of the city on Monday afternoon during the first day of the COP26 summit.

The Swedish teen laughed and joked with the crowd before starting a sing-song featuring the iconic Scottish tune with a twist.

Ring of steel thrown up around COP26 dinner leaves dozens of Scots 'locked out their own homes'

Dozens of frustrated residents were allegedly blocked from gaining access to their own homes after a ring of steel was thrown up around a COP26 VIP dinner.

World leaders - including US President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Boris Johnson - met at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum on Monday night after day one of the summit.

A number of key roads in the West End were closed for security reasons as dozens of uniformed officers lined Argyle Street.

India's Prime Minister has delivered a devastating blow to the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow by admitting his country won't reach net zero by 2070.

Narendra Modi told the summit India will increase its non fossil energy capacity to 500 GW by 2030 and it will get half of its energy from renewable resources by the same date despite reaching net zero by 2050 being one of the main objectives.
