Police officer was assaulted while breaking up major Scots beach party with drunk young people.
Cops swarmed Monifieth Beach in Dundee and then Broughty Ferry after the alarm was raised over the weekend.
They discovered the largest group comprising of about 50 young people but also found Scots congregated at Broughty Ferry Castle, Esplanade, Rugby Terrace, Tennis Courts and Rock gardens.
They raided the area seizing a major alcohol haul and reported one person for for assaulting a police officer.
Inspector Chris Boath of Longhaugh Police Station said "Following complaints from residents about antisocial behaviour in the area our officers carried out high visibility patrols and engaged with a number of groups traced within the area.
"As a result a quantity of alcohol was seized and confiscated. Officers will continue to carry out regular patrols in the area"
Police were also called out to Edinburgh after vicious fights broke out during a huge park party.
Officers have condemned the disorder and chaos that erupted after thousands descended on the Meadows this weekend, as the city enjoyed warm weather and the stay-at-home order came to an end.
Two men were allegedly assaulted yesterday as massive groups of revellers showed up at to enjoy the sun.
A 22-year-old man was attacked around 7.30pm in the Middle Meadow Walk area while a 17-year-old man was seriously injured in the park around 6.40pm.
