Cop and five others held for threatening bar manager in Kalyan

KALYAN: Around six people including a police constable have been arrested for threatening the manager of Orchestra bar in Kalyan on Monday night.

The accused, in an inebriated state, threatened the manager at gun point asking him to keep the bar opened beyond its closing time and to play music. The incident took place at Tal Bar situated in Rambaug.

The police said six people, including a policeman, Uttam Ghode posted at Titwala police station, and Harishyam Singh along with four others entered the bar at 8 pm and demanded that the bar remain open and music continue to play.

However, when the manager refused and requested the party to pay their bill, the accused Harishyam Singh, threatened him by showing a licensed revolver stating that he will not pay the bill unless the music is played.

Following this, the manager informed the local Mahatma phule police who reached the spot and arrested all six. The accused were produced before court and remanded into one day police custody.
